Big Update Emerges in Lamar Jackson Contract Saga

The Baltimore Ravens are over a month into their offseason, and Lamar Jackson remains without a contract. The two sides are still trying to work out a contract extension for the former MVP, who is operating without an agent and relies on his mother as his business adviser.
With Jackson and the Ravens still reportedly $100 million apart in negotiations, he is getting help from an outside source as he looks to secure a life-changing amount of money.
QB Lamar Jackson doesn't have a traditional agent representing him in negotiations with the Baltimore Ravens but he is getting guidance from the NFLPA. I'm told he is not negotiating alone.

Lamar Jackson Contract News
According to ESPN's Dianna Russini, the NFL's Players Association is assisting Jackson in his contract negotiations. It's unclear from the report whether Jackson requested their help or if the NFLPA stepped in to ensure he gets a fair deal.
Either way, it's encouraging to know that Jackson has some support as he tries to land his big payday. Contract negotiations are notoriously tricky and can drag out for a while, which is why players typically hire agents in the first place so they don't have to deal with it.
Jackson already turned down a six-year, $250 million extension (with $133 million guaranteed) prior to last season, believing he's worth more than that. Baltimore is apparently reluctant to give him more guaranteed money, however, especially given his recent injury woes.
Time will tell if the NFLPA can help bring a swift conclusion to Jackson's negotiations and get him the contract he thinks he deserves. If they do, Ravens fans will owe them a giant thank you.
