The Cincinnati Bengals were easily one of the bigger surprises of the 2021 NFL season, advancing all the way to Super Bowl LVI. Although they didn't walk away with the Vince Lombardi Trophy, the Bengals hope to use that experience to find the same success in 2022.

Several players from the Bengals' deep playoff run will be back next season and fans can now add another name to that list. Cincinnati is bringing back underrated cornerback Tre Flowers on a one-year, $1.85 million ($500,000 guaranteed) deal.

Tre Flowers Contract News

A fifth-round draft pick in 2019, Flowers spent his entire career with the Seattle Seahawks before he was claimed off waivers by the Bengals in October of last year.

The 26-year-old played a total of 16 games (one start) between the two teams, finishing with 39 tackles, one defended pass and a fumble recovery. He also held opposing quarterbacks to a 69.2% completion rate on 39 targets and missed a career-low 4.9% of his tackles.

Although fellow Bengals CB Eli Apple got a fair amount of attention during the playoffs, Flowers made some pretty big plays throughout Cincinnati's postseason. Playing each of the four games without a start, he finished with 11 total tackles while breaking up a pair of passes.

FanDuel Sportsbook is currently giving the Bengals +2200 odds (No. 12) to win Super Bowl LVII next season. Flowers replicating his success from the 2022 NFL campaign will go a long way to help his team in their championship pursuit.
