It's safe to say it has been an up-and-down year for the Cincinnati Bengals so far. They jumped out to an AFC-best 5-2 record before dropping consecutive games heading into their bye week. However, the momentum that was once lost is back after a couple of impressive wins.

The latest edition of ESPN's NFL power rankings proves people are taking notice, too. Cincinnati jumped from No. 13 to No. 9 following their blowout win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Bengals are beginning to find their groove as they hope to earn their first postseason berth since 2015.

Bengals Power Ranking

It's hard to talk about Cincinnati's offense without mentioning the dynamic play from rookie wideout Ja'Marr Chase. The former LSU standout ranks sixth in the NFL in both yards per reception (18.1) and total receiving yards (906). Overall, Chase has scored 8 touchdowns across his first 11 games played.

The Bengals would not be where they are right now if it wasn't for this defense, though. Cincinnati has been sneaky good on that side of the ball, giving up just 20.5 points per game (T-No. 6 in NFL). Defensive lineman Trey Hendrickson has been leading the way with 10.5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles.

All things considered, there's a reason head coach Zac Taylor remains in the NFL Coach of the Year discussion. His squad has a chance to challenge the Baltimore Ravens for the NFC North division title.

Cincinnati will aim to grab its third straight win when they host the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 13 NFL action. The Bengals head into the matchup as 3-point home favorites, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
