Chicago Bears outside linebacker Khalil Mack has been dealing with injuries to a foot and his ribs, which held him out of practice on Wednesday and Thursday. He ended up practicing in a limited capacity Friday, leading people to wonder if he'll be able to suit up against his former team — the Las Vegas Raiders — on Sunday.

Fortunately, things are pointing in the right direction for Mack. The Bears have named him as a captain for Sunday's contest, which isn't something they'd do if they were certain that he couldn't play against the Raiders.

Khalil Mack Injury Update

It'd be hard to find a player who's tougher and more durable than Mack. He's only missed two games in his eight-year NFL career and he certainly wasn't going to miss a chance to show up his former organization.

The fifth overall selection in 2014, Mack spent four seasons with the Raiders. He racked up plenty of accolades during that span, including being named the 2016 NFL Defensive Player of the Year. He was the traded to the Bears in 2018 for three draft picks.

After a 2020 campaign that saw him receiving both Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro honors, Mack's injuries have held him to a slow start in 2021. He's played just 63% of snaps compared to 84% last year and even though he's notched 4.0 sacks, his six total tackles are far from ideal.

The Bears will enter Sunday's matchup as the 5.5-point underdogs, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
