Alabama vs LSU Winner to Continue Impressive Streak That Predates Nick Saban's Tenure in Tuscaloosa

The LSU-Alabama rivalry has been one of the most heated annual series in college football and whenever these two programs play one another, it's been must-watch television.

However, this decorated rivalry will escalate to a historic level this season when No. 1 LSU (8-0) faces No. 2 Alabama (8-0) on the road in Tuscaloosa in Week 11 on Nov. 9, 2019. This year's chapter of the LSU-Alabama rivalry marks the 14th consecutive contest in which the winner will prove a top-5 team in the AP Top-25 Poll.

Nick Saban Record vs LSU at Alabama

As heated as this rivalry may be, it's worth noting the Crimson Tide have turned this annual clash into a one-sided affair in recent years. The Crimson Tide have won eight straight meetings with LSU, as well as 10 of the 13 total head-to-head matchups they've played during Saban's tenure with Alabama.

While Saban is 10-3 against the Tigers in his time at Alabama, LSU head coach Ed Orgeron is 0-3 against the Crimson Tide since taking over in Baton Rouge in 2016, and Alabama has outscored the Tigers by a combined total of 63-10 over that stretch.

The Tigers, however, have a lot of momentum heading heading into their pivotal SEC West showdown with Alabama this year. LSU currently sits No. 1 in the Week 10 AP Top-25 Poll for the first time since the 2011 season, an it all comes at the expense of Crimson Tide, who LSU leapfrogged for the top spot after Week 9 in the latest poll.
