As is seemingly always the case with A.J. Green, his fantasy football outlook in the 2020 season will be entirely dependent on his health. Having missed seven games in 2018 and the entire 2019 campaign, fantasy owners will understandably be hesitant to pull the trigger on the seven-time Pro Bowler.

However, assuming he can stay healthy, Green might have a lot more upside than he has in years past, thanks to the likely addition of Joe Burrow in the 2020 NFL Draft.

A.J. Green Fantasy Football Outlook 2020

It's impossible to project whether or not Green will actually stay healthy, but the last time we saw him on the field, he was as productive as ever. Through eight games in 2018, Green was on pace for a 1,374, 12-TD campaign.

That was with Andy Dalton at the helm, and he has been far from efficient recently. He averaged 6.0 adjusted yards per attempt (AY/A) of 6.0 last season, which was tied for the fourth-worst mark in the NFL. Even with Green in the fold, Dalton wasn't great in 2018 either, posting an AY/A of 6.8.

It's fair to expect Burrow to be an upgrade over Dalton, or at least provide the team with some more big-play ability, after averaging a ludicrous 10.8 yards per completion with LSU last season.

The other question mark for Green is the competition he'll have for targets, as both Tyler Boyd and John Ross (and to a lesser extent Auden Tate) showed promise in 2019. Soaking up inefficient looks while Green was on the shelf should be taken with a grain of salt, however.

At the end of the day, Green's fantasy value will come down to whether or not he's healthy. He looks like a boom-or-bust WR2 next season, and the likely addition of Burrow could raise his ceiling.
