AJ Brown Fantasy Outlook Improving Despite Week 5 Dud Against Bills
By Dan Israeli

AJ Brown has shown glimpses of dominance this season, most notably in Week 4 when he caught three balls for 94 yards, including two impressive touchdowns. Brown came back down to earth in Week 5, however, being limited to just two catches for 27 yards in a loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Brown was expected to struggle against the Bills though, as he saw a lot of Tre'Davious White, who is one of the league's top shutdown corners, and the Bills entered the week ranking third in Football Outsiders' pass defense DVOA rankings. While the dud performance was not great for fantasy, there was something positive taken out of Brown's Week 5 game — an increase in playing time.

Progress.
Brown's 40 snaps in Week 5 were second among Titans wide receivers, behind only Corey Davis, who played 54 snaps (87 percent). It was the first time Brown exceeded a 50 percent snap share this season, as his uptick in playing time came at the expense of fellow outside WR Tajae Sharp, who saw his snap share decrease from 59 percent in Week 4 to 32 percent in Week 5.
With Adam Humphries (58 percent snap share in Week 5) mostly manning the slot, the opportunity is there for Brown to see increase usage on the outside as the season rolls along. The rookie's 250 receiving yards leads the team despite the limited playing time he has seen, and Brown clearly possesses the big-play ability the Titans' offense severely lacks.

Next up for the Titans in Week 6 is a road matchup with the Denver Broncos, which can pose another tough matchup for Brown if he is shadowed by Broncos' top corner Chris Harris Jr. Regardless, Brown has some desirable matchups in the weeks ahead (Tampa Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs), and may be in line for some big performances as his playing time continues to trend upward. That upside makes him a top waiver wire add in Week 6.
