The Cincinnati Bearcats have made the NCAA Tournament eight straight years and are currently on track to make it nine straight this season. And the Bearcats look to maintain this course with a win over a mediocre SMU squad this Wednesday night on the road. 

Cincinnati is a three-point favorite over the Mustangs, according to Fanduel Sportsbook, as SMU lost by five points the last time these two teams played. Going with the ranked team here seems like the obvious choice, but let's see if some of the experts believe there is some upset potential here. 


Cincinnati vs SMU Basketball Predictions


Sports Chat Place

The Sports Chat Place staff likes the Bearcats to pull out the win and cover by the slimmest of margins. They think it'll be a low-scoring matchup, and they also believe recent trends have not been kind to SMU and that'll eventually fail them in the end. 


Chris Kubala (Winners and Whiners)

Kubala is also siding with the Bearcats here since they're both the better team on paper and have momentum on their side. SMU just lost to UCF by 47 points, and Cincinnati just recently beat the Knights straight up. That's not a great omen for Wednesday night's game.


Down The Drive

Down the Drive is also picking the Bearcats to win and cover the spread, 73-63. The Mustangs might give Cincinnati a little trouble, but Cincinnati star Jarron Cumberland should wake up from his mini-slump and lead the Bearcats to an easy victory. 


Sports Jaw

Sports Jaw makes it 4-for-4 here as they also believe the Bearcats will win and cover the three-point spread. They have the Bearcats winning, 71-67, on the back of their Top-10 defense.


ESPN Basketball Power Index

ESPN BPI gives Cincinnati a 69.1 percent chance to win, which seems fitting given the rest of the expert predictions siding with the Bearcats.
