4 Best MLB Free Agents Still on the Market

With Spring Training finally here, signifying the beginning of baseball season, it's amazing to see some of the best MLB players still available in free agency. After Manny Machado joined the Padres, arguably the biggest fish is off the market, but there's still a lot of game-changing talent still without a home.

Here are the four best MLB free agents left on the open market.

4. Jose Iglesias, Shortstop

Jose Iglesias may not be the gigantic name that you'll see further down on this list, but there's no reason why a player of his caliber shouldn't have a job right now. The former All-Star showed he has plenty left in the tank, batting .269 with 15 stolen bases last season, and could make a big difference both offensively and defensively for a team competing for a title this season. You could put someone like Evan Gattis, Gio Gonzalez or Carlos Gonzalez in this spot, but Iglesias quietly deserves the five-hole on this list.

3. Craig Kimbrel, Relief Pitcher

A closer of Craig Kimbrel's caliber is something that isn't usually around this late in the MLB offseason. Not only is he a game-finisher, with 42 saves last season, but he's been as consistent as a closer can be. With seven All-Star appearances in eight seasons, Kimbrel is one of the more dominant relief pitchers in baseball.

2. Dallas Keuchel, Starting Pitcher

Dallas Keuchel is the kind of pitcher that can serve as the ace of many MLB rotations. One of the best pitchers in baseball, Keuchel has what it takes to take a staff to the next level. Just look at what he did with Houston during their 2017 title run. Adding a former Cy Young winner would immediately change the World Series odds of whichever team he ends up signing with.

1. Bryce Harper, Outfielder

You didn't expect to see any other name up here, did you? Bryce Harper has six All-Star appearances in his seven MLB seasons and is the best real and/or fantasy player that can still call himself a free agent. He won an NL MVP award in 2015 and has 184 home runs over the course of his career. Expect Harper to get a deal that rivals what Machado just signed with the Padres and for the slugger to make the biggest impact on the field and in championship odds once he ultimately signs.
