There are still plenty of talented free agents available at this point in the offseason and Spring Training is still far off in the distance, but FanDuel Sportsbook already has last year's World Series champs as the 2019 World Series favorite.

The Boston Red Sox, with much of their championship squad still intact, sit at +550, just ahead of the Houston Astros (+600), Los Angeles Dodgers (+700) and New York Yankees (+700).

Rounding out the top five is the Chicago Cubs at +1000 and their name has been swirling around rumors connected to All-Star free agent Bryce HarperThe four teams behind the Red Sox all made the postseason last year and haven't lost much significant talent this offseason.

Something else interesting here is that four of the five teams in the NL East are in the top 14 when it comes to World Series betting odds. The NL East was one of the weakest divisions in baseball last season, but the Atlanta Braves (+1100), Philadelphia Phillies (+1700), Washington Nationals (+2000) and the New York Mets (+2200) all apparently made savvy enough moves so far this offseason to convince the oddsmakers that they should at least be mentioned in the World-Series contender conversation.

Lots of changes are still yet to come, but now could be your chance to get the best odds you'll have heading into the 2019 MLB season.
