The Atlanta Falcons have been one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL this season. So disappointing, in fact, that the team's ineptitude is going to put Matt Ryan on the wrong side of NFL history.

Through 15 starts, Ryan has completed nearly 70 percent of his passes for 4,500-plus yards and 33 touchdowns to just six interceptions, good for a 108.5 passer rating. Unfortunately, Atlanta's 6-9 record will make him the first quarterback in league history to put up those kinds of numbers without making the NFL playoffs.

Despite the Falcons doing everything they can to stop him from winning, Ryan has put together one of the most underrated fantasy seasons of all time. The 331.7 FanDuel points he's totaled this year make him the third-highest scoring quarterback in fantasy this year, behind only Patrick Mahomes and Ben Roethlisberger.

This year isn't much different from his 2016 MVP campaign when Ryan racked up 4,994 yards, 38 touchdowns and a 117.1 quarterback rating. The difference is that Atlanta went 11-5 on their way to a devastating come-from-behind loss to the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.

When you think of great QBs this season and you look at the NFL MVP race, it's Mahomes, Drew Brees, Philip Rivers and Andrew Luck atop the list. Ryan is no where to be found, likely due to his team's record, not his output on the field.
