If you had Kareem Hunt in your fantasy league, you know the importance of having a handcuff.

You need to rely on the best backs in the league if you're going to have a successful fantasy team, but you can't allow yourself to be vulnerable. If a player is injured, or in Hunt's situation, suspended and cut, then you need to be prepared by scooping up the players who will take his place.

Malcolm Brown, Rod Smith, Wayne Gallman, and Chase Edmonds are all available in the high majority of fantasy leagues.

Heading into the playoffs, having a handcuff is more important than ever.

Justin Davis is Todd Gurley's backup now that Malcolm Brown is out, Smith is Ezekiel Elliott's, Gallman backs up Saquon Barkley, and Chase Edmonds is second behind David Johnson. Throw in Gio Bernard as Joe Mixon's backup as well.

With the recent injuries to Melvin Gordon and James Conner, owning a handcuff has been pivotal this season.

Whether you have these players or not, it's a tactical advantage that is important now more than ever as the fantasy playoffs approach.
