The NBA  and Nike have released their new City Edition jerseys for this season and there are some insane additions. There are naturally some awful choices, but overall, Nike and the teams did a great job.

Ignore the terribly ugly jerseys from both teams in LA or the Cavs, Bucks, Warriors, and Rockets. Those can go directly in the trash. As for some of these other uniforms, they need to be around for good.

Here are the top five city jerseys released by the league.

5. New Orleans Pelicans

You can't go wrong with the Mardi Gras colors. The Pelicans strayed away from the classic purple gold and green when they switched over from the Hornets to the Pelicans. This isn't meant to bash their current uniforms, but this is a great sense of the city as it's fitting for the uniform's name.

4. Denver Nuggets

These are a throwback and one that is well needed. The city and the mountain logo on the jerseys are fantastic. The colors are bright and bring your eyes right to the scenic view making for one of the cleanest jerseys of the bunch.

3. Boston Celtics

These are reminiscent are the team's Irish night photos but are much better. The white makes it a fresher look and you can't ever go against this Boston team embracing their Irish roots.

2. Minnesota Timberwolves

It's hard to not put this at the top spot. Not only is this team incorporating purple which is incredible in the NBA, but they're honoring a Minnesota legend. These jerseys are inspired by Prince's "Purple Rain". You can't really get better than a nod to local and global legend, Prince.

1. Miami Heat

Sorry Prince, but there are few jerseys on the planet that are nicer than these. The Miami Vice jerseys are not only the best of the bunch, but they might be the best uniforms in all of basketball. It wouldn't be the worst idea to throw their actual uniforms in the trash and wear these every single night.
