Sports betting is becoming a big part of everyday life in America and leagues are getting involved.
The NHL announced that MGM Resorts will become their official sports betting partner, also with an importance on data sharing.
MGM's partnership is now their second in this space, as the NBA reached an agreement on a $25 million contract with them.

"The deal will allow MLM access to NHL "intellectual property," according to Commissioner Gary Bettman.
It is worth noting that this deal between the MGM and NHL is not exclusive, and the league is openly looking for more partnerships.
In an effort to become the most innovative major sport, the MGM and NHL will experiment with next-generation data including puck tracking and other information that could be used for in-play betting
The news is especially big for MGM Resorts, who are reportedly trying to expand their reach in the East by acquiring Empire City Casino and Yonkers Raceway in New York. The area is currently home to the NHL's New York Rangers, New York Islanders, and New Jersey Devils. The Giants, Jets, Nets, Knicks, Yankees, Red Sox and two MLS teams too.
