Chicago Bears linebacker Khalil Mack suffered an ankle injury during the Week 6 loss at the Miami Dolphins and, apparently, the ailment has continued to linger. You can consider that an acceptable excuse as to why they've allowed 30-plus points in each of the last two weeks.
#Bears DC Vic Fangio on Khalil Mack's injured ankle: "He's affected by it. He's obviously not 100 percent."

The Bears defense does get a nice matchup this Sunday against the New York Jets and their rookie quarterback Sam Darnold, who has thrown an interception in all but one of the seven games this season. Most notably, Darnold threw three of them last week against the Minnesota Vikings.
3 players this season have 5+ sacks and 4+ forced fumbles and it’s three guys out of now where! Khalil Mack, Von Miller, J.J. Watt. Never heard of these guys.

The Bears already had their bye week, so there's no chance of getting Mack a full week's worth of rest without missing a game. The closest thing to that, however, would be if they rested him against the lowly Buffalo Bills next week.
During the first four games of the season, we kept asking: what would the #Bears defense look like had they not traded for Khalil Mack?

We’ve seen the answer the last two weeks.
Keep an eye out for whether the Bears start giving Mack a couple plays or series off in these next few weeks.
