The third night of the NBA season is upon us and, of course, we already have injuries to take notice of. Fantasy basketball is won by finding those injury replacements that step into a much bigger role on their team. Whether you're playing DFS or season-long, here are three duos that should have an uptick in production Thursday night.
3. Ian Mahinmi and Markieff Morris - Washington Wizards vs. Miami Heat

Dwight Howard has practiced in full for three-straight days, but there's still some skepticism as to whether he'll play tonight. If Howard doesn't play, look for Mahinmi and Morris to take advantage of a banged-up Miami squad that is playing on the back end of a back-to-back. Even if Howard does play, it appears like Wizards head coach Scott Brooks wants to ease him into game shape in the early stages of this season.
2. Bobby Portis and Jabari Parker - Chicago Bulls at Philadelphia 76ers

Portis will draw the start for the Bulls' opener with Lauri Markkanen out for the start of the season and Jabari Parker likely coming off the bench as the sixth man. Cristiano Feliciano is questionable (trending toward doubtful) as well for tonight's game, and that'll leave Portis, Parker, rookie Wendell Carter Jr., and Robin Lopez as the only bigs available for the Bulls.
1. Josh Richardson and Dwyane Wade - Miami Heat at Washington Wizards

Even though it's the second game of a back-to-back for the Heat, they've got four players listed as inactive for tonight's game against the Wizards. Typically, the older D-Wade won't be playing two games in as many nights often (if at all) this season, but he should get 20-plus minutes and have a big role in the offense.
J-Rich has been the Swiss Army knife for the Heat over the last couple of seasons, and his versatility is incredibly valuable with so many of their bodies in street clothes. This was evident last night as he went for 21 points (on 8-for-21 FG) with five rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block in 38 minutes.
