As if the idea of two SEC teams and Notre Dame making the 2018-19 College Football Playoff wasn't enough to make you green in the face, one SEC matchup this weekend could dictate a potential single-Power-Five-conference playoff picture this season.

This isn't just some campfire horror story concocted from the depths of despair in the ACC/Big Ten/Big 12/Pac-12 circles either, because it could be a terrifying reality.

There's a legitimate possibility that this weekend's showdown between No. 3 Georgia and No. 13 LSU in Baton Rouge sets the SEC on course for a three-team representation in this year's College Football Playoff.

If Georgia loses to LSU in Death Valley in Week 7 of college football, the first step is already underway. The Tigers also get No. 1 Alabama at home this season, so imagine a late-November nightmare that features an 11-1 LSU SEC West champion team with wins over an 11-1 Alabama and an 11-1 Bulldogs team heading into an SEC Championship rematch that Georgia ultimately wins.

Ew, I know. But if Notre Dame goes undefeated along with this scenario, four of the Power Five Conferences and their respective champions could all realistically be held out of the 2018-19 College Football Playoff.
