If you're one of the thousands, if not millions, of people who drafted the Philadelphia Eagles defense/special teams as one of the first D/ST's off the fantasy draft board, your Thursday just got a little worse.

Eagles starting safety Rodney McLeod has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a torn MCL after undergoing surgery this morning.

Through the first three weeks of this season from a fantasy perspective, this year's Eagles defense hasn't looked much like the one that helped bring the Lombardi Trophy to Philly last season.

Philadelphia's D/ST has scored just 19 total points on FanDuel, which has dropped them to a three-way tie for the ninth-worst scoring total in fantasy defense so far.

It's certainly possible the defense is still shaking off some rust and simply on the verge of flipping the switch to return to dominance by year's end, but losing a veteran starting safety who has accounted for 107 tackles and six interceptions between his two years in Philadelphia isn't going to help kick-start that comeback any time soon.
