You don't have to be a football guru to know the Dallas Cowboys offense looked atrocious in its opening game against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. They put up one of the worst offensive performances of NFL opening weekend. Only the Bills and the Cardinals scored fewer points in Week 1.

Carolina's defense is good, but it's probably not as talented as that of the New York Giants, especially if Olivier Vernon makes his return in Week 2. Dallas' struggles on offense started well before Week 1 of 2018, going all the way back to last season.

Scoring less than 10 points is not going to win you many ball games, especially not with the Cowboys' defense being what it is.

Despite losing, the Giants' defense actually played a solid game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1, surrendering just 13 points -- the other 7 came on a pick 6. Although the Jaguars' offense isn't exactly a powerhouse, they definitely looked better than whatever the Cowboys trotted out on the field in Week 1.

Dallas' legendary offensive line from two years ago is no more. They are a mediocre line at best right now and the Giants have a group of talented pass rushers as well as one of the best run-stoppers in the entire NFL in Damon "Snacks" Harrison.

If Dallas can't control the line of scrimmage or set up a baseline running attack with Ezekiel Elliott (which they couldn't in Week 1), then their offense stands no chance. Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is not a threat to throw downfield either. In fact, it seems he's scared to do it.

With the Cowboys team total sitting at 22.5 points per the FanDuel Sportsbook, you might want to take all this into consideration before betting that over.
