49ers Get More Bad News on Jimmy Garoppolo Ankle Injury

San Francisco 49ers' quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has been dealing with an ankle injury since Week 2 of this season. That injury has impacted his performance significantly, causing him to float in and out of the lineup this season.
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it's going away any time soon. In fact, Garoppolo he's reportedly going to be sidelined indefinitely.

Nick Mullens will take over while Garoppolo is on the shelf. He has been up and down this season, but he's obviously a pretty significant downgrade from a healthy Garoppolo.
Playing in relief of Jimmy G last week, Mullens came in and completed 18-of-25 passes for 238 yards and 2 TDs. Kyle Shanahan's offense should still be able to move the ball pretty reliably, but the lows can be really low with Mullens at the helm. His 200-yard, 2-interception performance in Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles is proof of that.
At the end of the day, the Garoppolo injury is just another terrible break for a team that has already had a lot of them this season. Hopefully, he can get back on the field soon.
