3 Packers Players Who Have a Make-or-Break 2020 Season Ahead

In Matt LaFleur's first season as head coach, the Green Bay Packers exceeded expectations, going 13-3 and making it all the way to the NFC Championship. While overall team as a whole played above how many were expecting, the same cannot be said for every player individually.
Heading into the 2020 season, these are the three players facing a make-of-break year in Green Bay.
1. Marquez Valdes-Scantling, WR
Marquez Valdes-Scantling is heading into his third NFL season, which historically has been the season where many wide receivers take a jump in their careers. For MVS, Packer fans hope this is the case. In what many expected to be a breakout season, he caught just 26 passes last year and lost out on snaps to promoted practice squad players. MVS has all the makings to be a solid weapon, but it has not yet come to fruition.
2. Devin Funchess, WR
Sticking with the wide receiver group, which was among the worst in the league last season, we now have Devin Funchess, who Green Bay recently signed to a one-year, $10 million deal. After getting a one-year, prove-it deal with the Indianapolis Colts last season, he suffered a season-ending injury in the first game. While he will only be 26 this season, it feels as though Funchess has all the pressure on his shoulders to perform this season, or it may be too late for the former Michigan tight end.
3. Kevin King, CB
The former second-round pick out of Washington is heading into the final season of his rookie contract and needs to perform now. Kevin King was among the worst cornerbacks in the NFL last season, allowing 864 yards (fourth-worst mark in NFL). He often looked lost in coverage, and he gave up big chunks of yards, with the average depth of target on him being 12.6 yards. He also gave up 10.2 yards per target, and the pressure is on him to earn a new contract.
