As always, seeing where the top college quarterbacks end up is one of the most exciting parts of the NFL draft. Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields may have fallen short in the National Championship, but he has a real shot to be selected within the top 10 picks in the 2021 NFL Draft after racking up 5,373 passing yards and 78 total touchdowns as a Buckeye.

A number of NFL teams are searching for their franchise quarterback. With that in mind, here are three likely teams that will pick Fields in the 2021 NFL Draft.

1. New York Jets (No. 2 Overall)

Sam Darnold remains a developmental young quarterback, but the New York Jets may use their highest draft pick to select a new signal caller. Fields brings a lot of different skills to the position including the ability to get outside the pocket and pick up first downs with his legs. That is something Jets quarterbacks have been lacking in recent years. He has also shown that he has the overall talent to simply win football games. This is a player that could help the Jets improve quickly and it wouldn't be surprising to see them take Fields here.

2. Atlanta Falcons (No. 4 Overall)

One team looking to draft a quarterback in order to create a bridge to the future is the Atlanta Falcons. Starting quarterback Matt Ryan will likely still be taking the snaps next season, but having him mentor a young quarterback like Fields during his last few seasons could be a major benefit for Atlanta. Fields has the arm talent and passing accuracy to be able to keep players like Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley happy in this offense. Plus, Fields grew up in Atlanta and it would be exciting to see what he could do with the team he grew up watching.

3. Carolina Panthers (No. 8 Overall)

The Carolina Panthers made headlines last offseason by signing quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to be their starter. However, it remains to be seen if that move really worked out after the Panthers finished 5-11 and now have a top 10 pick in the NFL draft. Carolina has a lot of upside given their youth on offense and drafting Fields could be one way to showcase a true playmaker as their quarterback. He is the type of prospect that teams can build around and the Panthers may be the ones to capitalize on that if he falls to them at the No. 8 spot.
