A good bullpen can be the difference between being a .500 MLB team and a World Series contender. Unfortunately, there are a few clubs that clearly didn't get the memo.

With that in mind, here are arguably the three worst bullpens in the Majors so far this season.

Pitching was supposed to be the strength of the New York Mets, but the bullpen has been a problem thus far. Mets' relievers own a collective 5.27 ERA and 1.58 WHIP in 83 2/3 innings pitched this season. Opponents are also hitting .273 against New York's relievers this season.

This one really falls on two pitchers, Trevor Rosenthal and Austen Williams. While recording just six outs this season, Rosenthal has given up nine earned runs and eight walks, amounting to a 40.50 ERA and 6.50 WHIP. Williams has been worse, recording just one out while giving up six earned runs and five hits for a 162.00 ERA an 18.00 WHIP. Those two have pushed Washington's bullpen ERA to a combined 7.34 ERA, something that is keeping the Nationals in the conversation for Craig Kimbrel.

Most MLB analysts expected the Baltimore Orioles to finish last in the AL East this season, and their struggles are being exasperated by their bullpen. Baltimore's relievers have combined for a 6.81 ERA and 1.67 WHIP in 105 2/3 innings pitched. The Orioles' bullpen has also struggled to find the zone, allowing 50 walks and 80 earned runs through 24 games this season.
