Who's in the Home Run Derby 2022?

There will be eight contestants in this year's Home Run Derby. As of Tuesday, July 12, four participants have been revealed. This includes the reigning two-time derby champion Pete Alonso, and the future Hall of Famer Albert Pujols, who brings 684 career home runs on his resume.

Pete Alonso Home Run Derby

Pete Alonso became just the third MLB slugger to win back-to-back Home Run Derby contests in 2021, his second consecutive victory. Much to the approval of baseball fans everywhere, Alonso will look to etch his third straight derby title in the history books. Ken Griffey Jr. is the only other MLB player to own a trio of derby wins.

Philadelphia Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber announced Tuesday on his instagram that he will participate in the 2022 Home Run Derby.
