The possibilities are almost endless on what you can bet on during Super Bowl 56 between the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams. Anything ranging from traditional player props to whether or not the opening kickoff will be a touchback can all be found on FanDuel Sportsbook.

Bengals vs Rams Super Bowl Prop Bets

One of the best bets available is wagering on the first quarter spread. Let's break down the odds and give a pick for this prop heading into Bengals-Rams Super Bowl LVI.

1st Quarter Spread Super Bowl Prop Bet

FanDuel Sportsbook gives two options for this bet, just like a normal spread bet, but confined to the end of the first quarter. The Rams enter Super Bowl 56 as 0.5-point favorites on the first quarter spread, with +100 odds to cover. The Bengals have -122 odds to cover as a 0.5-point underdog.

This is certainly a tough prop to judge heading into the big game. We'll start with the regular season records, which point more heavily in the Rams favor of getting out to an early lead, which is essentially all we're betting with a 0.5-point spread, who is winning at the end of the first quarter.

The Rams outscored their regular season opponents 63-51 in the first quarter in 17 games. On the other hand, the Bengals got outscored 67-81 in the opening quarters.

1st Quarter Spread Super Bowl Prop Bet Prediction & Pick

The Bengals have actually been the better scoring team on their run to the Super Bowl, putting up 19 combined points across this three-game playoff win streak, while conceding 10 to opponents. The Rams are outscoring opponents 17-3 in the first quarter of their playoff games.

For me, it's the Rams' defense that's the biggest deciding factor here. The Bengals have given up a combined 91 first-quarter points up until this point, while the Rams have conceded just 54. That's exactly why the Rams rank fifth in Football Outsiders' total defensive DVOA metric, compared to Cincinnati's 19th rank.

It's really a toss up considering the trends for both teams, but we like the idea of getting plus-money odds on the Rams. I'll juice those +112 odds for the Rams to end the first quarter leading by at least a point.
