After a 1-3 start to the 2021 MLB season, the Chicago White Sox have slowly been turning things around, going 5-3 in their last eight games. With a 6-6 record, they now sit tied for third in the AL Central, one game back of the first-place Kansas City Royals.

It seems as if ESPN has taken notice of the White Sox's recent surge and has incorporated that in their latest MLB power rankings.

White Sox ESPN Power Rankings

After the first week of the season, ESPN ranked the White Sox at No. 12. One week later, they've moved up five spots to No. 7, which should excite fans.

Despite Eloy Jimenez and Tim Anderson missing time due to injuries, the White Sox have been one the better offensive teams around the league. They're scoring 5.25 runs per game (5th), which they're doing on a 0.233 team batting average (14th).

The White Sox are about to wrap up a four-game series against the Cleveland Indians (6-5). As it stands, the White Sox lead the series 2-1 and have outscored the Indians 12-5 in the first three games.

The race to the top of the AL Central should be tight all season, which means the White Sox will need to find a way to take their recent play and stretch it out over the course of the season.
