Two teams desperate to get back in the win column meet head-to-head in Week 8 as the Denver Broncos host the Washington Football Team. FanDuel Sportsbook has the Broncos slated as 3-point favorites in a game that is expected to go down to the wire.
If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's some start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 8 clash.
Terry McLaurin Fantasy
Start Terry McLaurin, WR, Washington Football Team: Facing the Broncos at Mile High is no easy task, which makes looking at volume the perfect strategy here. Wide receiver Terry McLaurin saw a team-high 12 targets in Week 7 and turned them into 122 yards and 1 touchdown. It was the fourth time this season he saw double-digit targets in the passing game. Quarterback Taylor Heinicke should continue to look his way against a Denver defense that has posted the ninth-worst pass defense DVOA rating in the NFL. With a spread set at just 3 points, McLaurin should be seeing targets up until the final whistle on Sunday.
Courtland Sutton Fantasy
Start Courtland Sutton, WR, Denver Broncos: Washington's defense has not been able to stop anyone from lighting up the scoreboard this season and is giving up a league-high 30.0 points per game. Denver should be in the red zone fairly often in Week 8 and that bodes well for wide receiver Courtland Sutton. The 26-year-old leads all Broncos' receivers with 7 red zone targets in 2021 and is averaging a career-high 77.0 receiving yards per game. Washington is allowing the second-most PPR fantasy points to opposing WRs, which gives Sutton WR1 upside this week. He should have no trouble picking this defense apart for a big game.
Ricky Seals-Jones Fantasy
Sit Ricky Seals-Jones, TE, Washington Football Team: Ricky Seals-Jones has seemingly come out of nowhere to become a viable streaming tight end in fantasy football. The veteran pass-catcher has racked up 109 yards and 1 touchdown on 10 receptions over the last two weeks. However, Seals-Jones draws a nightmare matchup in Week 8. Denver is giving up the fourth-fewest PPR fantasy points to opposing TEs and have not allowed a single touchdown to the position so far. Tight ends are averaging just 10.6 yards per catch against the Broncos. This is not the week to move Seals-Jones from a bench spot and into the starting lineup.
Teddy Bridgewater Fantasy
Sit Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Denver Broncos: Fantasy managers may be tempted to stream Teddy Bridgewater this week given Washington's struggle to stop anyone on offense. It's not the smartest idea, though. Bridgewater has looked shaky over the last three weeks tossing 5 interceptions and taking 9 sacks. The seventh-year pro currently ranks as the QB19 in fantasy scoring and has posted a top-12 QB performance just once this season. Don't get it twisted, this is a favorable matchup for Bridgewater. He just hasn't shown fantasy managers enough consistency to be trusted with a starting spot. There are better streaming options in Week 8.
