Fantasy Football Playoffs Advice

If you're looking for some help with your fantasy lineups, here's some start 'em, sit 'em advice for this divisional showdown.

Jalen Hurts Fantasy

Start Jalen Hurts, QB, Philadelphia Eagles: Jalen Hurts should be in for a big game this weekend. Despite entering the year with a reputation as a top-five defense, Washington hasn't been able to stop a nose bleed this season. The Football Team is surrendering an average of 23.01 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. No other team is surrendering even 20.0 points to the position. Plus, the last time Hurts faced Washington he put up 27.6 points. He could be a top-five play this week.

Antonio Gibson Fantasy

Start Jaret Patterson, RB, Washington Football Team: By Week 17, you're basically not going to find a running back worth starting on the waiver wire. Jaret Patterson could be the exception, however, as Antonio Gibson has been placed on the COVID list on Friday after missing practice on Thursday. We can't expect Patterson to simply take over the exact role Gibson had, but Gibson averaged 16.5 carries plus 3.2 targets per game when healthy. A void of nearly 20 opportunities means Patterson, who saw 9 carries in relief of Gibson last week, should be in for solid volume as Washington's top RB.

Kenneth Gainwell Fantasy

Sit Kenneth Gainwell, RB, Philadelphia Eagles: Miles Sanders will be out in Week 17 and Kenneth Gainwell will be making his return. But he shouldn't return to your fantasy lineup. He's pretty clearly working behind both Jordan Howard and Boston Scott, and he has only played more than 40% of the snaps once this season. Both Scott and Howard look like stronger plays than Gainwell this week.

Terry McLaurin Fantasy

Sit Terry McLaurin, WR, Washington Football Team: Terry McLaurin just hasn't been able to get going recently. He's turning 4.5 targets into 2.0 receptions for 28.3 receiving yards per game over his last four, failing to score a TD in that time. The Eagles aren't exactly an imposing defense, but if you have a good-enough bench, you might be better off keeping McLaurin out of your lineup.
