Fantasy Football Playoffs Advice
If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's some start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 17 showdown.
Travis Kelce Fantasy
Start Travis Kelce, TE, Kansas City Chiefs: After missing Week 16 due to COVID-19, superstar tight end Travis Kelce will be in Kansas City's lineup this week. He played fantastic the last time we saw him in Week 15, finishing as the top player in PPR with 41.1 fantasy points. The Bengals haven't played well against tight ends this season, giving up the seventh-most fantasy points to the position. With many league championships on the line this week, there's no conceivable reason to sit Kelce.
Joe Mixon Fantasy
Start Joe Mixon, RB, Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Mixon enters Week 17 after having put up 135 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns against the Ravens last week — good for RB2 in PPR. Although Kansas City's defense has been great in the second half of the season, they've allowed opponents to do some damage on the ground. The Chiefs have surrendered at least 130 rushing yards in three of their last four games, plus three rushing TDs to RBs over that stretch. That's great news for Mixon, who has seen at least 17 carries in five straight games and played 82% of offensive snaps last week.
Mecole Hardman Fantasy
Sit Mecole Hardman, WR, Kansas City Chiefs: With Kansas City's offense at less than 100% last week, Mecole Hardman had a chance to step up in a more prominent role. While he still finished with 12.1 fantasy points, he played just 43% of offensive snaps for the second straight week and barely saw his target count change. Byron Pringle looked more impressive as the WR7 and may have earned himself more responsibility going forward. In other words, Hardman will likely continue being a volatile boom-or-bust player for another week.
CJ Uzomah Fantasy
Sit C.J. Uzomah, TE, Cincinnati Bengals: Veteran tight end C.J. Uzomah began the fantasy season on a good night, scoring five touchdowns in his first seven games. Unfortunately, he hasn't found the end zone since Week 7. He's been the TE25 in PPR since Week 8 and has finished with five or fewer fantasy points in four of his last six games. Even if the Chiefs offer a promising matchup to tight ends, it's tough to trust Uzomah — especially with his snap count trending downward in his last two games.
