It may not always be pretty, but the Washington Football Team is continuing to find ways to win games this NFL season. This team is in the midst of an impressive 4-game winning streak and owns a 6-6 record. Their recent success has caused a surge up to No. 16 in ESPN's NFL power rankings.

Washington moved up from No. 22 to No. 16 and passed over a number of borderline playoff teams including the Las Vegas Raiders and Cleveland Browns. Head coach Ron Rivera has his team motivated to earn their second consecutive NFC East title in a division that is still up for grabs.

On the offensive side of the ball, Washington has leaned on the rushing attack as of late and it has certainly been working out. In fact, they are averaging the ninth-most rushing yards per game (124.4) in the NFL. Second-year pro Antonio Gibson has racked up 352 total yards over his last three games.

The biggest story here is the resurgence of this defense, though. After giving up an average of 30.0 points per game over the first seven weeks, Washington hasn't allowed an opponent to score over 21 points in any of the last five games. Their improvement in pass coverage has been a sight to see.

Washington only has divisional games left on the schedule, which means they control their playoff hopes. They'll look to spring a home upset over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 14. Rivera and company head into that matchup slated as 4-point underdogs, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
