Washington Football Team fans had a right to be concerned when wide receiver Terry McLaurin became a late addition to the injury report on Friday. However, they can breathe a sigh of relief as it looks like the dynamic pass-catcher will be ready to suit up against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 6.

Terry McLaurin Injury Update

While McLaurin did not practice on Friday, it has now been confirmed that it was more about rest than anything else. The dynamic pass-catcher was dealing with a small hamstring injury. Washington cannot afford to lose McLaurin with No. 2 WR Curtis Samuel already out with a groin injury.

McLaurin has paced this Washington passing attack so far this season accounting for 32.8% of the team's receiving yards. He is averaging a reliable 13.8 yards per reception and has seen double-digit targets in three of his five games played. McLaurin also ranks second on the team with 3 total touchdowns.

Week 6 is a great matchup for McLaurin and the rest of Washington's receivers given the struggles of the Chiefs' defense. Kansas City is giving up 296.4 passing yards per game in addition to a league-high 32.6 points per game. With a total set at 54.5 points, this one is expected to turn into a shootout.

It's possible that McLaurin could be limited on Sunday as a precautionary move, but he has an opportunity to explode in this game. Washington needs all the help they can get as they head into this contest as 6.5-point home underdogs, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
