Even though facing the New Orleans Saints in London will be a memorable experience, the Minnesota Vikings know it won't be easy. Playing overseas brings some challenges, ranging from playing a game on a neutral site to dealing with the jet lag that comes with being thousands of miles from home.

When it comes to jet lag, Minnesota's staff has done what it can to keep its players awake and alert. NFL Network's Stacey Dales reports that the Vikings had espresso shots waiting at the hotel for players upon their arrival around 8 a.m. local time (3 a.m. ET).

Dales, who is currently in London, adds that even superstar wideout Justin Jefferson was seen drinking coffee. When asked if it's something that he normally does, Jefferson told Dales that he isn't a coffee drinker and doesn't even like the beverage.

The upcoming matchup marks the third time that the Vikings will compete in the NFL International Series. Minnesota has already played twice in London, defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers 34-27 in 2013 before scoring a 33-16 victory against the Cleveland Browns in 2017.

The Vikings have a solid chance to improve their London record to 3-0 against a Saints team that has now lost back-to-back games. On top of that, New Orleans will also be without three key players while several more are questionable for the international affair.

NFL games played in London aren't always the most graceful due to the players dealing with jet lag. Only time will tell if the Vikings' caffeine-based strategy will help them overcome the time difference to help them secure a win.

Vikings vs Saints Odds

For now, the odds are on the Vikings' side heading into Sunday. FanDuel Sportsbook has Minnesota available as the 3-point favorite over the Saints, giving the Vikings -115 odds to cover the spread.
