The Minnesota Vikings have won seven straight games and look to improve their record to 9-1 after a Week 11 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Playing the Cowboys means an emphasis on slowing down quarterback Dak Prescott.
Unfortunately, a key member of Minnesota's pass rush has stuck on the injury report leading up to this clash. Za'Darius Smith, who leads the team with a stellar 9.5 sacks (and ranks second in the NFL), was a limited participant in all three of Minnesota's practice this week.
NFL insider Ed Werder provided a huge injury update on the premier pass rusher Sunday morning.
According to Werder, Smith is expected to play through his knee contusion. And while he might see limited snaps on run downs, head coach Kevin O'Connell said "when it matters, when we have to have it, [Smith] is going to be in the game,"
There's no denying the importance of Smith's 9.5 sacks. Danielle Hunter ranks second on the team with 6.0 sacks.
Minnesota has a great opportunity to improve to 9-1. They are considered slim 1.5-point underdogs, but playing at home, according to NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
