With MLB rosters set to expand in September, Houston Astros catching prospect Korey Lee just made a convincing case for being called up.
The 24-year-old slugger erupted for three home runs on Tuesday, pacing the Sugar Land Space Cowboys to a 23-8 win over the Las Vegas Aviators.
Lee contributed three of the Space Cowboys' franchise-record nine home runs, becoming the fourth player in club history with a three-homer game. He's shown impressive power for Houston's Triple-A affiliate, socking 17 home runs with 58 RBIs in 79 games there this season.
The three-homer performance was just the latest big game from Lee, who's been on a tear over the past few weeks. In his last 12 games, Lee's tallied seven homers with 16 RBIs, 15 runs scored, and a 1.001 OPS.
After a brief stint with the Astros in July, Lee is doing everything he can to slug his way back to the majors and rejoin the team with the second-best World Series MLB odds (+370) on FanDuel Sportsbook.
