Video Showing Most Valuable Sports Franchises in the World is Stunning

There's no secret that sports is a big-money industry, with no shortage of franchises being valued in the billions of dollars.

Highlighting this, Forbes produced a very cool video showing the evolution of the world's most valuable franchises across any sport over the past decade.

This is not only a cool way to compare where different teams rank, but also to visualize just how much more money these teams are worth now.

In 2011, the 10th-most valuable team bottoms out below $0.70 billion at one point, and by the end of the video (2020) the 10th-most valuable team is at $3.81 billion.

The NBA also sees a massive surge in value as the video goes on, with no teams ranking in the top 10 at the start of 2011, but the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors all ranking top-five in 2020.

The NFL proves to reign supreme for now, however, with the Dallas Cowboys holding a massive $0.5 billion edge over the second-place New York Yankees.

A decade can clearly bring a ton of change in these rankings, so it will be interesting to see what kind of a shakeup the 2020's bring.
