The Milwaukee Brewers are set to get a huge boost to their starting rotation. Pitcher Freddy Peralta will be activated from the 60-day injured list and start on Wednesday. The All-Star hasn't stepped on the mound in the majors since May 22 and was overjoyed talking to reporters about the situation.

In a video tweeted by Brewers beat writer Adam McCalvy, Peralta talked about how excited he was to pitch for Milwaukee again. The smile never came off his face as he explained how well his rehab starts went and what he expects to happen when he faces the Pittsburgh Pirates at 7:05 p.m. ET.

Peralta even fielded a question from teammate Omar Narvaez and couldn't stop laughing before the video cut off. The 26-year-old said he "wants to have some fun." Peralta knows that he is likely going to be on a pitch count, but he was adamant that he wants to help the team in any way that he can.

Across a pair of rehab starts for the Triple-A Nashville Sounds, Peralta has allowed only one earned run over 5.1 innings. He has also struck out eight opposing batters. He was only pushed to 52 pitches in his most recent outing, so it will be at least a few weeks until he can take on a full workload.

The Brewers own a starting rotation ERA of 3.82, which ranks 21st among MLB teams. Peralta joins Corbin Burnes, Brandon Woodruff and Eric Lauer to create a strong core for manager Craig Counsell to rely on down the stretch. Peralta owns a career ERA of 3.93 and a career WHIP of 1.153.
