VIDEO: Francisco Lindor's High School Baseball Highlights From 2010 are an Incredible Throwback
By Tristan Jung

Francisco Lindor is one of the best shortstops in baseball. At 26 years old, he's one of the best defenders at his position and has made four straight All-Star teams. There's no doubt he's going to be an MVP candidate in 2020 yet again.
Lindor's high school highlights, filmed at a tournament in 2010, show just dominant of a player he'd turn out to be. After moving from Puerto Rico to Florida, he enrolled in Montverde Prep School and quickly established himself as one of the best high school prospects available.
It's easy to see why. Lindor has a sweet swing and his fielding ability was already on full display. Defensively, Lindor could've already been in the minors. Despite being rather skinny and under six feet, he showed an ability to hit beyond his years.
Lindor would be drafted eighth overall in the 2011 MLB Draft. He spent four years in the minor leagues steadily rising up prospect lists, learning how to hit at every level. Finally, in 2015, Lindor made his debut and broke out with a .313 batting average and 12 homers in 99 games.

He has continued to find great success ever since, earning MVP ballots in every season since his rookie year. His career batting line of .288/.347/.493 and his defensive skills make him one of the most valuable players in baseball. However, the unwillingness of the Indians to give him an extension has left his future uncertain. While Lindor will certainly be looking for a big contract, that contract may not come in Cleveland. 2020 will be a key season for Lindor's future.
