Pass rushers pride themselves on making quarterbacks' lives miserable. They love nothing more than to force opposing QBs into mistakes and take them down for sacks that disrupt the opposing offense. Former Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos linebacker DeMarcus Ware was one of the very best ever at pressuring the quarterback.

However, one QB proved to be too elusive: Philip Rivers.

Ware told Pat McAfee that Rivers prided himself on avoiding the pass rusher, which is a hilarious fact that Rivers was so invested in not getting taken down by Ware.

It took me 12 years to get a sack on Philip. He said you're never going to get a sack on me. I'm going to take an intentional grounding. The last time we played them in Denver, I came around the corner and he saw me and he laid down.

DeMarcus Ware

The former Cowboy and Bronco racked up 138.5 sacks during his storied NFL career, which ranks ninth all-time. Ware earned an impressive nine Pro Bowl selections and four All-Pro team nods. He also took home a Super Bowl ring in 2015 with Denver.

Rivers has taken an astounding 458 sacks over his 17-year career, which makes Ware's story about not being able to sack him even more funny. It illustrates the entertaining mind games that top players in the league are engaged in and we don't even know it.
