VIDEO: Chris Sale Works Out With Red Sox Ahead of Spring Training

Is this the year that Chris Sale finally stays healthy? Boston Red Sox fans certainly hope so.
While the deadline for Boston's pitchers and catchers to report to Spring Training isn't until Feb. 15, Sale was spotted working out at the team's Spring Training facility down in Fort Meyers, FL.

Chris Sale Spring Training
This is an encouraging sight for Red Sox fans, who haven't seen much of Sale lately. A string of frustrating injuries has limited the seven-time All-Star to just 11 starts over the past three seasons combined, keeping him constantly on the shelf.
Boston's struggled without its ace, finishing last in the AL East twice in those three seasons. The Red Sox have a brighter outlook for 2023 after a busy offseason, however, and so does Sale.
The 33-year-old lefty recently told reporters that "Humpty Dumpty has been put back together again" and promised big things for the upcoming season. He talked the talk, and now he's walking the walk by getting a head start on his preparation for 2023.
Sale could prove to be a difference-maker for Boston if he stays healthy. The former World Series champ was one of the best pitchers in baseball during the 2010s before injuries dragged him down, and a return to form would be a huge boost for a Red Sox rotation that is full of question marks.
Needless to say, Boston fans will be keeping a close eye on Sale throughout Spring Training, as their postseason hopes largely depend on him. The Red Sox are currently +5000 to win the World Series on FanDuel Sportsbook's MLB odds.
