Vegas Projects Slow Start to Zach Wilson Era for Jets
By Larry Rupp

New York Jets fans across the country have newfound hope following the team's first round selection of quarterback Zach Wilson back in April.
However, Vegas doesn't seem to be on board quite yet as the team is slated to be an underdog during the first two weeks of the 2021 NFL season.
The Jets open as 4-point underdogs against Sam Darnold & the Carolina Panthers, according to Week 1 NFL Odds posted on FanDuel Sportsbook. They are also slated as 4.5-point underdogs in Week 2 against a division rival in the New England Patriots.

Jets Odds
Wilson has the potential to bring this Jets' offense to another level, but playing in the NFL is a lot different than playing at the college level. The young QB completed 67.6% of his passes for 7,652 yards with 56 touchdowns and 15 interceptions across three seasons with the BYU Cougars (30 games).
It would be hard for the Jets to be as underwhelming out on the field as they were last season. In 2020, they averaged a league-low 15.2 points per game and struggled in every facet of the sport. The Jets also allowed the fourth-most passing yards per game (275.6).
Overall, the Jets finished the 2020 season 6-10 against the spread, which was just one game better than the disappointing Dallas Cowboys (5-11). It'll be interesting to see if the Jets can keep either one of their first two games within a field goal and get the Zach Wilson era off to a thrilling start.
