The NCAA Tournament has truly taken "March Madness" to heart this year. With half of the top-12 teams eliminated by the Sweet 16, things have certainly been unexpected through the first two rounds.

And from a betting perspective, with plenty of upsets, means plenty of underdogs covering the spread.

As we head into the Sweet 16, underdogs have put up an impressive 31-20 record against the spread (ATS). Unders have also dominated the tourney so far, especially in the first half, with those winning at a 57 percent and 62 percent rate, respectively.

Already with the highest average seed in Sweet 16 history, it will be interesting to see how the underdogs fair the rest of the way.
