The Atlanta Braves have been one of the MLB's hottest teams since the beginning of June and that success isn't limited to their Major-League roster. Top prospect Vaughn Grissom has been on a roll with High-A Rome, leading to a promotion to Double-A Mississippi on Monday.

Braves Roster News

Grissom's promotion is more than well-deserved. He had a great showing across Single- and High-A last season, racking up seven home runs and 43 RBIs while slashing .319/.418/.464 in 87 total games.

Fortunately, he's had no issue building off that performance. The 21-year-old infielder has seen 298 at-bats over 74 games with Rome, crushing 11 homers and 55 RBIs with a .312 batting average. He hasn't had any issue seeing the ball either, striking out just 40 times while drawing 32 walks.

A former 2019 11th-round pick, Grissom wasn't always one of the Braves' most exciting prospects. His determination and ability to do whatever's asked of him have changed that, leading to fans hoping that he can be an MLB mainstay sooner than later.

With just how good the Braves are, it's unlikely that Grissom will see any MLB playing time this season. Nevertheless, continuing his current play could see him in Triple-A before the 2022 campaign ends.
