With the 2020 MLB season rapidly approaching, it's time to begin preparation for this year's fantasy baseball drafts. Here at The Duel, we'll have you covered every step of the way.

We've already got our top 100 fantasy baseball players for the 2020 MLB season, but now we're going to take things a step further and break it down by position.

With that in mind, here are the top 10 starting pitchers for fantasy baseball in 2020.

Fantasy Baseball SP Rankings

10. Blake Snell, Tampa Bay Rays

9. Stephen Strasburg, Washington Nationals

Heading into the 2020 season with a fat new contract, Stephen Strasburg continues to offer huge strikeout upside. He drew swinging strikes on a career-high 13.5 percent of his pitches last season, which was good for 12th among qualifying pitchers, and he tied for 11th by striking out 29.9 percent of the batters he faced. Pairing that with a 3.49 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA), which ranked sixth, Strasburg continues to be one of the top hurlers in fantasy baseball.

8. Mike Clevinger, Cleveland Indians

7. Shane Bieber, Cleveland Indians

6. Jack Flaherty, St. Louis Cardinals

5. Walker Buehler, Los Angeles Dodgers

Walker Buehler's 2019 season proved that his 2018 breakout was no fluke. Just one spot behind Strasburg in SIERA (3.50), he also upped his strikeout rate to 29.2 percent while cutting his walks per 9 innings to just 1.8 (10th among qualifying pitchers) and his WHIP to 1.04 (tied for eighth). With the Dodgers boasting a win total of 98.5 on FanDuel Sportsbook (second in the MLB), Buehler should also be in line for a fair share of wins in 2020.

4. Justin Verlander, Houston Astros

3. Max Scherzer, Washington Nationals

2. Jacob deGrom, New York Mets

1. Gerrit Cole, New York Yankees

No surprise here. Gerrit Cole is coming off the kind of season most pitchers can only dream of. His 2.62 SIERA blew away the next-best mark (2.93), and his 39.9 percent strikeout rate trounced the second-best rate (35.4 percent). At 29 years old there's not much concern that Cole is going to take a big step back from the form that saw him rack up 13.8 strikeouts with just 2.0 walks per 9 innings, translating to a ridiculous 6.8-to-1 K/BB ratio in 2019. Surrounded by an elite New York Yankees squad, which is the only one in the MLB with a win total in the triple-digits, there's nothing to not like about Cole this year.
