Texans Bolster LB Corps With Underrated Signing

The Houston Texans are coming off a disappointing 2020 season in which they finished with a dismal 4-12 record. They will look to turn things around in 2021 and have been active in the offseason trying to improve the roster. In fact, Houston recently signed an underrated linebacker in Neville Hewitt.
Former Jets ‘ UFA linebacker Neville Hewitt is signing a one-year deal with the Houston Texans, per his agent @DrewJRosenhaus.

Texans Sign Neville Hewitt
Hewitt may not be a household name, but he put together a prolific 2020 season. He posted a career-high 134 tackles including 6 tackles for loss and 4 quarterback hits. That ranked as the ninth-highest tackle total in the NFL. Hewitt also racked up 2.0 sacks and proved he is a starting-caliber linebacker.
At 28 years old, Hewitt seems to keep improving as he gains more experience out on the field and should play almost every down on defense for this Texans team. Houston has suddenly put together a dependable linebacker trio with Hewitt, Zack Cunningham and Christian Kirksey.
The Texans are not surrounded by many positive storylines this offseason, but the team's front office seems to be trying hard to put together a team capable of making some noise in the AFC.
Houston is definitely going to play some hard-nosed tackle football next season, but the question remains as to if they can put it all together and win some games.
