J.C. Jackson has been a rock-solid cornerback for the New England Patriots since entering the league in 2018. The 25-year-old has earned a coverage grade of at least 68.4 in each of his three NFL seasons, per ProFootballFocus, and his star really exploded in 2020. The third-year CB finished second in the NFL with a whopping 9 interceptions, trailing only Xavien Howard (10).

Now set to hit restricted free agency, the Patriots have placed a second-round tender on their prized defender. That means if a team is looking to sign Jackson, they'll have to send a second-round pick to New England, though the Pats would still retain the right to match the offer and retain him.

With that in mind, here are three teams that should consider making a run at the 25-year-old.

3. Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys need some help at cornerback. If they don't address the position with the No. 10 overall pick, as most seem to believe they will, Jerry Jones will have to at least consider making a run at Jackson. A second-round pick is a hefty price to pay, but you have to think Jackson will be a better player in 2021 than any corner that's still on the board by then. For a team with Super Bowl aspirations, that's no small thing.

2. Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs are bringing in K'Waun Williams for a visit, showing they clearly know they need to improve at CB. There just aren't many better options than Jackson. Yes, it'd be painful to part with a second rounder, but the Chiefs have the second-to-last pick in that round, meaning it's pretty much just a third-round pick. Putting a ballhawk like Jackson in the Chiefs' opportunistic secondary could help create a ton of turnovers in KC.

1. Indianapolis Colts

Rock Ya-Sin didn't get the job done as the Colts' No. 2 cornerback last season, grading out as PFF's 103rd CB out of 121 qualified players. That's not going to cut it. Put Jackson (No. 29) opposite of Xavier Rhodes (No. 9) with Kenny Moore (No. 16) manning the slot and this secondary starts to look downright scary – especially with DeForest Buckner and Darius Leonard wreaking havoc upfront.
