The Buffalo Bills took their offense to the next level by trading for disgruntled Minnesota Vikings star Stefon DIggs this past offseason, giving Josh Allen an elite No. 1 option en route to an AFC Championship appearance. The trade has worked out for both Buffalo and Minnesota, the latter of whom now has rookie stud Justin Jefferson in the fold.

However, a surprise team reportedly could've made a move for Diggs, stirring up an intriguing what-if.

The New England Patriots were involved in trade talks up until the very end. New England was given a chance to match or one-up the Bills' trade offer, but the Pats eventually declined, letting their division rival nab the star wideout instead.

The trade has gone incredible well for both teams. Diggs, paired with Allen, led the league in receptions (127) and receiving yards (1,535) while hauling in 8 TDs (a team high). Using the Bills' No. 22 pick, Minnesota took their new WR1 in Jefferson, who looked like a star in his first season with 88 catches, 1,400 yards (fourth in the league) and 7 TDs.

While it's interesting to think of Diggs on the Patriots, it's clear that he's right at home with Buffalo.

Diggs and the Bills enter Sunday's AFC Championship as 3-point underdogs against the Kansas City Chiefs, per FanDuel Sportbook's NFL betting lines.
