The Seattle Seahawks are in headlines for all of the wrong reasons right now. It's no secret quarterback Russell Wilson is upset with how things have gone and how things are set up going forward. He wants a say. If the Seahawks want to keep Wilson, they should use free agency as a way to repair the relationship with their quarterback.
To do this, the Seahawks should make a move that is the best of both worlds, stealing tight end Gerald Everett from the Los Angeles Rams in free agency.
Wilson does not have many weapons underneath, with DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett constantly looking for deep targets downfield. With Greg Olsen retiring, signing Everett could bring a whole new element to this offense.
Everett is a decent blocker, which would help with the running game. However he is also a solid receiver, as the Seahawks have seen when facing him. They can continue to let Metcalf run in a straight line all game as long as they have a legitimate, athletic option like Everett underneath.
Signing Everett is a win-win move for Seattle, if the organization can work it out financially.
