Rumors Link Titans to Another Top Quarterback Ahead of Free Agency
The Tennessee Titans enter the offseason with a big question at quarterback. One potential answer has been taken off of the board following Tom Brady's retirement, though there's several other intriguing options to consider around the league.
In fact, the Titans have now been linked to another top available QB ahead of free agency.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Tennessee is one of a few teams expected to be interested in Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr once he's released. Rapoport mentions the New Orleans Saints, New York Jets and Carolina Panthers as other suitors in the mix.
Tuesday is the day Carr and Las Vegas will finally end their partnership after nine seasons together. Along the way, Carr earned four Pro Bowl nods, though postseason success was hard to come by with the Raiders. The 2014 second-round pick has played in just one playoff game in his career so far.
The Titans could offer Carr a starting role on an AFC contender after years of postseason trips with Ryan Tannehill at the helm. Though the team isn't flush with weapons, they do have one of the game's best running backs in Derrick Henry, who would help shoulder the offensive load.
Considering how Carr and Josh McDaniels didn't jive, though, it remains to be seen if he'd want to play for another Bill Belichick disciple in Mike Vrabel.
