The Cincinnati Reds were given quite the scare Thursday night when second baseman Jonathan India exited the 9-3 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers with a hamstring injury. As one of the Reds' best players, it's understandable that the fanbase was worried about him missing time.

Fortunately, the Reds have since received a great injury update on the 25-year-old. Team manager David Bell confirmed after the game that the situation is "encouraging" and that the club will re-evaluate India on Friday.

Bell went on to add that there's a chance that India could be back in the lineup to face the Dodgers again on Saturday. If that winds up being the case, the Reds clearly dodged a major bullet.

Indiana took home National League Rookie of the Year honors last season after recording 21 home runs and 69 RBIs while slashing .269/.376/.459. Although he hasn't been too productive so far this season, his two hits in three at-bats Thursday night could be the start of him heating up.

In the meantime, the Reds look to avenge Thursday's loss without India on Friday night when they face the Dodgers once again. It'll be an uphill battle, though, with FanDuel Sportsbook's MLB odds listing Cincinnati as the +215 moneyline underdog on the road.
