Rays News: Tampa Bay Gets Great Nick Anderson Injury Update

Since joining the Tampa Bay Rays in 2019, relief pitcher Nick Anderson has been nothing short of phenomenal. He's posted a stifling 1.43 innings over the past two years with the Rays. Because of that, news of the partially torn ligament in his throwing elbow was a crushing below ahead of the 2021 season.
But, it looks like Anderson is finally making progress on the injury front.

Nick Anderson Injury Update
The hard-throwing 31-year-old has been sidelined on the 60-day injured list since March. Reports suggest he is scheduled to throw live batting practice on Friday, a huge next step in the rehab process. The currently timeline pegs early August as a possible return date for the Rays reliever.
The thought of adding another terrific bullpen arm should put a scare into the rest of the AL East. Despite the loss of Anderson at the beginning of 2021, the Rays still own the second-best bullpen ERA (3.26) in all of baseball. Tampa Bay currently sits just 1.5 games back in the AL East standings and owns the ninth-best odds (+1600) to win the World Series on FanDuel Sportsbook.
